Amazon is teaming up with Ford to upgrade a number of newer Ford vehicles to allow an Alexa experience that’s similar to what many people have in their homes.
“Alexa is very popular in our homes as we know, in the kitchen, in living spaces to accesses information, to play entertainment and so forth. We believe the opportunity for in-vehicle voice experiences in cars should be on par to what we do today in a smart home,” says Alexa Automotive vice president Ned Curic.
Alexa has been in a number of vehicles for several years. The new execution from Amazon and Ford will make it much closer to the voice activated home experience.
