The Michigan real estate market is red hot, with listed homes getting accepted offers within days and many times above asking price. Jeff Duneske, owner of Duneske Real Estate Advisors, told Michigan News Network prospective buyers sometimes need to be creative to get their offers accepted.
“You’re just seeing offers that are, for all intents and purposes, contingent free,”Duneske said. “You’re seeing people come in with cash offers that are not contingent on getting a mortgage. You’re seeing people waive home inspections. You’re seeing letting home owners stay in the property rent free after closing just to make the offer as attractive as possible.”
Duneske says currently there is only a month of standing inventory in the local housing market. That’s something he has never seen before.
