The Silver Beach Hotel’s liquor license has been suspended for alleged violations of the state’s COVID rules. The Michigan Liquor Control Commission says an emergency suspension of the license was issued after an investigation by the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety found the place was hosting indoor gatherings and providing indoor dining in violation of the November 15 orders from the state. Officers entered the establishment in the early morning hours of November 22 and say they found 30 to 40 people dining and drinking, most of them without masks. The manager then tried to make officers leave. Therefore, the Silver Beach Hotel’s liquor license is suspended. There will be a hearing about the issue on December 11.
