
Dr. Anthony “Tony” Palmer MD, 52, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Spectrum Lakeland Health in St. Joseph.
A Funeral Service will be held 12:30 P.M., Friday, August 28th, 2020 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., with Karen Joy Kelly of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church officiating. Due to COVID-19 and in respect of social distancing, masks will be required. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. Tony was born November 19, 1967 in Chicago, IL to Thomas & Barbara (Reed) Palmer. He attended high school in Flushing, MI and then went on to attend the University of Michigan where he received his Medical Degree. Tony owned and operated his own practice in internal medicine in St. Joseph. Tony was a world-class chess player and premier coach. He competed in many individual chess competitions, and also coached students to chess tournament success. He loved his work, family, staff, patients and students and will be greatly missed.
Tony is survived by his father Thomas Palmer; sisters Carole Palmer, Carla (Rick) Thornton and Julia (Dave) Warner; nieces and nephews Thomas Warner, Carrie Warner, Tony Warner and Barbara Warner. Tony was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Palmer.
