Paw Paw School Board Accepts New Team Name, Logo

You can now call them the Paw Paw Red Wolves. The Paw Paw Public Schools Board of Education this week voted to officially accept the new team name and mascot proposed by a committee of students. That’s after the board in March voted to drop the old Redskins name amid much controversy. Students came up with the Red Wolves, with the superintendent telling us he likes the idea of being part of a pack that takes care of members. The board of education’s vote on Monday was unanimous. The board also accepted a new logo, featuring a tough-looking wolf and some slash marks. Paw Paw Public Schools is the only district in Michigan to have the Red Wolves name.
