The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department says two Kalamazoo residents are facing charges over two church break-ins on Saturday morning. Deputies were called out to the Chapel Hill Church at 4071 Naomi Road in Sodus Township shortly before 6 a.m. when the alarm went off. They found a smashed window on the north side of the building. While they were still at the scene, the deputies were told of another business alarm that had gone off at the Eau Claire Seventh Day Adventist Church at 6562 Naomi Road. Arriving officers found a window on the east side of the building had been smashed. While checking the area, officers found a vehicle sitting on the side of the road with a woman in it. They also found a man walking down the road, and determined the man and woman had been involved in the two break-ins. They were arrested and taken to the Berrien County Jail on charges of breaking and entering, possession of burglary tools, and possession of meth. The names of the suspects have not yet been released.
