A local legend is returning to coach Lakeshore High School football.
Denny Dock has been hired to return as the Lancers’ head football coach starting next season. Dock previously coached the football team from 1988 to 2013. He retired from teaching in 2010 and stepped down from football after the 2013 season. Dock has also served as the Lakeshore softball coach from 1990 to the present.
Dock says that he was surprised to be approached to return to football, but the idea of getting back together with the coaching staff intrigued him.
“They were very enthusiastic, which made me very enthusiastic, so here we are, let’s go,” Dock said.
Dock has also coached football at Hartford High School from 1981 to 1983, and Dowagiac High School from 1984 to 1987. When he initially stepped down at Lakeshore, his record was 209-64.
