Laura L. Wirth, 96, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Pine Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Stevensville.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, April 9 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 2673 W. John Beers Rd., Stevensville with Rev. Jeremy Koehler officiating. Friends may visit with the family Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Laura was born May 8, 1922 in Portland, Oregon to Walter & Minnie (Burridge) Bush. The family moved to Benton Harbor and she graduated from Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1942. On April 28, 1951 she married James W. Wirth in Benton Harbor. Laura tended to her family and assisted her husband on the family fruit farm in Benton Township. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stevensville and a member of the Berrien County Genealogy Society from 1971 until 1996, serving ten years as Historian. In her free time, Laura enjoyed sewing, embroidery and crocheting granny square pillows. She cherished the time spent with her family.

Laura is survived by her children-Wendel (Barbara) Wirth of Benton Harbor, Gary Wirth of Benton Harbor, Linda (Matthew) Williamson of St. Joseph; three grandchildren-Erick (Rebecca) Williamson, Stacey (John) Howe, Lindsey Williamson; seven great-grandchildren-Alana, Isaiah, Jack, Huckleberry, Max, Miles & George; and a nephew William (Diane) Bush. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim on October 28, 2012, two daughters-in-law-Sonya & Denise Wirth, and her brother William A. Bush.
