Robert Oswald Ziebart, 94 ½ , of St Joseph, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00A.M., Saturday March 23, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Avenue, Stevensville, with Pastor Martin Measel officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Road, St Joseph. Robert was born September 12, 1924 in St Joseph, to Oswald and Lydia (Frobel) Ziebart. On February 7, 1953 he married Marian Schaefer in St Louis, Missouri. Robert worked in the Metal Fabrication industry for over 41 years, working at Scowcroft, Wolverine Metal Stamping, Leco Corporation, Clark Equipment, Certified Metal and Ziebart Welding and Fabrication. He was decorated soldier in the United States Army, receiving many metals including 3 purple hearts. Robert was a member of Lest We Forget and proudly wore his uniform in many parades and a member of the Stevensville Legion. His strong Christian values led him to be a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church. He also involved with the church booth at the Berrien County Youth fair. Some of his hobbies were gardening, farming and he loved to work with metal welding and fabricating anything and everything!
Bob was survived by his children; Ruth (William) Kudera of Rapid City, South Dakota, Robert (Jeannette) Ziebart of Benton Harbor, Nancy ( Gordon) Duke of St. Joseph, Virginia “Ginny” Jennings of St Joseph, favorite ex son in law Tom Jennings of St. Joseph, son in law: Joseph (Irene) Klupp of Stevensville; Brother; Kenneth Ziebart; Sister; Sharon Jeschke; Grandchildren; Michael (Kristin) Klupp, Stephanie ( Loren) Ryman, Cliffton (Darla) Zechiel, Sarah (Greg) Gambill, Andrew (Megan) Duke, Nathan Gargano, Evan Ziebart, Great Grandchildren; Mason Ryman, Katelyn Ryman, Sophia Deming, Robert Gambill, Zach (Kaitlin) Brown and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 64 years, Marian Ziebart; daughter, Carol Klupp; his sisters, Eleanor Pasman, Patricia Ziebart, and brothers; Richard Ziebart and Alvin Ziebart.
