Donald L. Covell, Sr., 74, of Lawton, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at his home.
A celebration of life gathering will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at the Paw Paw Eagles, 63237 M-40, Lawton, MI 49065. Donald was born on March 25, 1944 to Earl and Grace (Shaw) Covell in Beaverton, MI. He was a United States Army Veteran. On September 16, 1967, he married the former Mary L. Martin in Ann Arbor. Donald was a founding member of the Paw Paw Eagles. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed golfing.
Donald is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary; children, Donald Covell, Jr. and Annette Longjohn; granddaughter, Erica Longjohn; siblings, Arlene McNett, Earl (Martha) Covell, Donna (Louis) Carroll, Dewayne (Brenda) Covell, Marilyn McLemore, Darl Covell, Gary (Sandy) Covell, Phyllis Finley and Jerry (Sharon) Covell; sister-in-law’s, Gertha Covell and Gloria Covell and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Grace Covell; siblings, Alvie Covell, Vern Covell, Leona (Hank) Roden, Delos Covell and brother-in-law’s, Bill McNett and Dewey McLemore.
