Carl Peeters

aaa-526

A dearly loved, generous and kind-hearted soul who was born on October 25, 1939 to Paul Maximillon Peeters and Marion Holverson. His childhood was spent in Neenah, Wisconsin and he studied at Marquette University Milwaukee.

After marrying Sharon Lynne Burns on June 15, 1963 in Milwaukee and subsequently being employed by Clark Equipment Co., they moved to Niles where they have lived ever since. He worked at Clark as a computer software analyst for 30 years and was a computer genius who, along with his team in the days of punched card mainframes, accomplished things that the IBM hardware salesmen said weren’t possible!

List of clubs and activities: Trap shooting, Sporting clays; Lifetime member of the Howard Township Conservation Club (The Wednesday Night Guy); Member Deer Creek Hunt Club; NRA member since 1960; Model Rockets including perfecting his own the rearshoot ejection system; Staunch Green Bay Packer Fan; Cornell Lab of Ornithology Backyard Bird Counter; and many other intellectual and artistic hobbies too numerous to list like slot cars, sailboats, go karts, wood working, stained glass, ingenious home repair, etc!

Though he rejected the dogma and hypocrisy he found in religion and didn’t speak much about his deep love or beliefs, they were evident to those with eyes to see in his words and actions ~ his abundant generosity, care and concern for the good of others and frustration with human selfishness, and especially in the huge bearhugs he gave with a sparkle in his eyes ~ all of which he modeled for and nurtured in his children, grandchildren, and everyone else around him.

Though his family is very puzzled about why God called him Home while he was just out to pick up the paper on that clear, peaceful, blue sky morning, they are grateful that he was able to remain independent, in his own home, and active right up to the end as he had wished to be.

He was preceded in death by his mother Marion Holverson on November 23, 1939, father Paul Peeters on March 18, 1988, mother Mona (Schultz) Peeters on August 4, 2008, brother John Peeters in 1951, and brother Paul Peeters in 2014.  He is survived by his wife Sharon (Burns) Peeters, Niles MI, brother Tom (Dawn) Peeters, Neenah WI, sister-in-law Marcia Peeters, Madison WI, daughter Jennifer Joanne Peeters, Bath MI, son Mark (Nancy) Peeters, Kalamazoo MI, daughter Victoria (William) Fouch, Vicksburg MI, and grandchildren: Clara, Jack, Ava, Luke.
