Your Republican nominee in the state House race for the 79th District in Berrien County is Pauline Wendzel. The Bainbridge Township native is a fourth generation family farmer and says she decided to run because she feels more young people need to get involved in state and local government.
“It feels good,” Wendzel told WSJM News following the win Tuesday night. “I’ve worked hard, I’ve met with a lot of people, connected with the district, and I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished.”
Wendzel will face Democrat Joey Andrews in the November election to succeed Representative Kim LaSata, who vacated the seat to run for the state Senate in the 21st District.
