The attorney for suspended Lake Michigan College President Dr. Jennifer Spielvogel says his client wasn’t given an opportunity to respond to complaints from college trustees about her conduct. Bradley Glazier tells the Associated Press expenditures Spielvogel made shortly after taking the job were typical of a new college president. This week, the LMC Board of Trustees revealed it suspended Spielvogel last Friday due to her conduct since becoming college president, which, among other things, included renovations to her office and a planned inauguration. Spielvogel is currently on paid leave, pending a final hearing before trustees to determine if there is just cause for her termination. That proceeding has been scheduled for May 6.
