School officials found the threatening message Thursday morning, which said there was a bomb in a locker and that someone was going to shoot up the school. The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department sent a bomb-sniffing dog to the scene, but found no traces of one. School officials and police were able to identify the student using security camera footage. Superintendent Will Kearney says the lock down was lifted shortly after.

“The police did give us an all-clear, so we did clear out the perimeter lock down and the students are now running their normal schedule,” Kearney said.

Per the district’s disciplinary guidelines, the student was removed from the school and faces suspension, possibly expulsion.
