United Federal Credit Union will soon have a new president. The board of directors Tuesday announced Terry O’Rourke has been hired as the president and CEO, effective March seventh. He replaces current President and CEO Gary Easterling, who announced his plan to retire last year. O’Rourke most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer of Lake Michigan Credit Union in Grand Rapids, and has previously served as the CEO of a manufacturing company with 700 employees, and in executive positions with Kellogg, Steelcase, Bank of America and National City Bank. Outgoing CEO Gary Easterling says he’s leaving United Federal in good hands, while O’Rourke says he became impressed with UFCU during the discovery process for a proposed merger between it and Lake Michigan Credit Union. O’Rourke is a graduate of the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, and Western Michigan University.
