Berrien County residents will have a chance to find a new friend this weekend, thanks to the animal control shelter. Animal Control Director Val Grimes says they’re holding an adoption drive on Sunday, which is Valentine’s Day. She hopes the event is a success so more can be held.
“I don’t think people realize what wonderful animals we have and what we offer, and what our prices normally are,” Grimes told WSJM. “So, we just need to make the community aware that we are out here, and we have wonderful dogs.”
And that’s not to mention the cats. The adoption drive will be Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm at the kennel on Huckleberry Road in Berrien Center. Those who stop by can adopt a spayed dog or cat for ten dollars, and for another ten, they can get a license and a rabies shot for the animal. Veterans and seniors get their pets for free.
