The Dowagiac Ice Time Festival is set for this Saturday. Artists from all over will be in town to compete for cash prizes, carving more than 20 thousand pounds of ice into life-size ballerinas, skiers, and bicyclists. Thousands of visitors are expected to come to the downtown area to watch the carvers in action, and also take in barbecue, smores, and of course, chili, as part of the annual event’s cook off. Also, downtown shops will be holding a variety of sales, and there will be activities all day for the kids. Everything kicks off at eight am with the ice carving, and the day wraps up with the Daddy-Daughter Dance, which is set for four pm to six. You can find the whole schedule at the Facebook page of the Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce.
