It may be officially fall, but the weather was perfect for the kick off of the St. Joseph Fall Festival. The 3rd Annual Rotary and Slumberland Great Bed Race was held Friday afternoon. Eleven teams competed in the event and included some very creative beds and costumes. Jim Paul is the owner of the Benton Harbor Slumberland store and says they teamed up with the Rotary Club of St. Joseph and Benton Harbor and have mutual goals in raising money for needy children.

The winner of the race this year was Wightman and Associates. Saturday events include a Day on the Farm with a Petting Zoo, Farmer’s Market and live music.
