This Saturday, letter carriers in Niles, Buchanan, Berrien Springs, Dowagiac, and New Buffalo will hold their annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive. It's the largest one-day food collection in the country...and with recent economic conditions, organizers need more help than ever. The Volunteer Center of Southwest Michigan says that you can contribute by putting non-perishable food items near your mailbox on Saturday morning...or you could even help out with the collections by volunteering to drive. With high gas prices, they've had a harder time than usual finding people willing to help, so if you're interested, call your local post office.
