State Representative Neal Nitz has filed paperwork to run for a seat on the Berrien County Board of Commissioners. Currently wrapping up his third and final term in the state House, Nitz hopes to represent the Ninth county commission district, which includes Baroda and Lake Townships, as well as Bridgman, and parts of Weesaw and Oronoko Townships. He says that what he's learned in Lansing will make him all the better able to serve at the county level:

The lifelong Baroda resident occupied the Ninth District seat on the county commission from 1993 to 2002, when he left to serve in Lansing.
