Many turning to two wheeled transportation amid high gas prices


With gas prices at a record high, and Spring here, it's a good time for bike shops and motorcycle dealers. Kurt Soloman, of McDaniel's Harley-Davidson in South Bend, says that sales are up.

He says that a Harley will usually get 40 to 50 miles a gallon, giving many people who have thought about riding a motorcycle, but never bought one, all the more reason to do it now. Something that uses even less gas, of course, is a bicycle. Tom Hunter, of Hunter's bike shop in Allegan, says he's seen more business, as well.
