Berrien Health Dept Reminds Public of Risk of Food Borne Illness


Something to remember this Fourth of July weekend is proper food safety. Pam Quinn, of the Berrien County Health Department, says that this is the time of year when food-borne illnesses thrive...and taking just a few simple steps to keep the food you serve at any gathering you might throw can go a long way:

Also, she says the Health Department wants to remind everyone that food-borne illnesses in restaurants remain a serious concern this summer, with all of the national recalls there have been. If you get sick within two weeks of eating at a restaurant, you're urged to contact the Health Department so it can investigate.
