Benton Harbor's unemployment rate rose to 8% in June, a half percent higher than the month before. But, Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth's Leo Murembya says that's largely the result of students coming home for the summer and looking for jobs. But he says, thanks to the Four Winds Casino... employment in the area is better than other regions in the state.

As for July's number's, Murembya says there's no way of knowing. But he says, seasonal job layoffs in education and the auto industry will play a part.
