A Benton Harbor man was arrested Wednesday after township police in Saint Joseph seized cocaine and a gun from his car and home. Officers say that around eight-30 PM, they stopped 24 year-old Ricky Lee Dumas for speeding on Empire Avenue near Riverview Drive. When they discovered that Dumas had no valid license and a bench warrant out, he was placed under arrest, and a subsequent search of his car turned up several packets of cocaine. Police then searched his apartment on Riverview Drive in Benton Harbor, and found more cocaine, along with marijuana, and a twelve-gauge shotgun. Dumas was taken to the Berrien County Jail on charges including possession of cocaine, felony firearm, and driving on a suspended license.
