Julia Flaga, 93 of Bridgman passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 23, 2024.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 3903 Lake St, Bridgman, MI 49106, with Reverend Arthur Howard officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, 9:30 – 10:30 AM at Pike Funeral 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman, MI prior to the church service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Our Lady Queen of Peace. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.

Julia was born on May 20, 1931, in Nowa Jastrzabka, Poland. The daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Kielbasa) Wielgus. Julia married Walter Flaga in Nowa Jastrzabka, Poland. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1968. After immigrating to the United States in 1964, Julia and Walter lived in Chicago. Julia moved to Stevensville in 1977 and then to Bridgman in 1984. Julia was a seamstress, an avid gardener, and enjoyed music and dancing. She loved being with family and friends, and was kind to everyone.

Survivors include her children: Wesley (Karen) Flaga, Christopher (Julie) Flaga, John Flaga, Dorothy Flaga, and Walter Paul (Amy) Flaga; grandchildren: Zachary, Alyssa, Michael, Rachel, Nicholas (Julia), Kara, Mason, Marley, and John; great grandchildren: Brantley and John: and many nieces and nephews in the United States and Europe.

Julia was also preceded in death by brothers: Wladyslaw Wielgus, and Tadeusz Wielgus and sisters: Genoweffa Gorka, Zofia Flaga, and Stella Dzienis.
