With a spirit that was as adventurous as the courses he rode on his beloved Harley, Anthony Gene Short, known affectionately as Tony, breathed life into every day of his 69 years. Born on September 10, 1955, in Benton Harbor, MI, USA, Anthony’s adventurous spirit led him to embrace life with a unique zeal and passion that was infectious to those around him. A retired contractor specializing in asbestos removal, Tony’s work ethic was as firm as the structures he worked on, a testament to his commitment to excellence.

His love for life was only surpassed by his love for his wife of 34 years, Debbra Short. Tony was madly in love with Debbra, a love so profound it could only be matched by the immense love he had for his family. As a husband, father, and grandfather, Tony’s love was a beacon that illuminated the lives of his four daughters, Chasity Jaeger, Shari (Toby), Shannon (Mike), and Amanda (Travis). His unique growl, which never failed to make everyone laugh, was a testament to his vivacious personality. Tony also found immense joy in being a grandfather and great-grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In the words of Evel Knievel, whom Tony greatly admired, “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” Tony’s adventurous spirit, love for life, and his unwavering commitment to his family are the legacy he leaves behind. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Dudley Short and Shirley Jackson, and his son, Jesse Short. He is survived by his wife, Debbra, his daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
