Yvonne Domke, 93, of Niles, Michigan, peacefully joined her husband Elmer in heaven on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
Yvonne was born on October 3, 1930 in Galien, Michigan to the late Encell and Violet (James) Swem.
Along with her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by her loving husband Elmer Domke and her sister, Sandy Nye.
Left to cherish the memory of Yvonne is her daughter, Lori (Marty) Dutka of South Bend, Indiana.
On November 24, 1956, Yvonne married the love of her life, Elmer Domke. Together, they built a life full of shared memories and deep affection.
A devoted grade school teacher, Yvonne touched the lives of countless students throughout her long and fulfilling career until her retirement.
Yvonne had a talent for baking, cooking, and entertaining. She brought joy to family gatherings and friendly get-togethers with her delicious meals and warm hospitality. Her home was always a welcoming place. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors and gardening.
Yvonne will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to the donor’s charity of choice in honor of Yvonne.
A Graveside Service for Yvonne will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 1:00pm at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, 61453 M-51, Niles, MI 49120.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home.
