Lisa Lynett Allen, 57, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024, at her residence in South Bend, Indiana.

She was born on August 24, 1966, in Niles, Michigan to Charles V. and Dorothy E. (Cox-Smith) Allen.

Family was the cornerstone of Lisa’s life. Left to cherish the memory of Lisa are her parents, Charles V. Allen (Vanessa Sutton Allen) of South Bend, Indiana and Dorothy E. Allen-Dyes of Niles, Michigan; her siblings, Zachary “Todd” (Lynne) Allen of Niles, Michigan; Angela Allen of South Bend, Indiana; Christie Allen of Kokomo, Indiana and Keith Sutton of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; two special aunts, Sheila L. Allen Arnold of New Albany, Indiana and Gloria “Pat” Nelson of Ray Town, Missouri, as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless other family members and friends. Lisa was preceded in death by her sister, Cidrena (Spates) Smith. Each family gathering was illuminated by her funny stories and brightened by her clever insights. Lisa’s presence was a gift that her family will forever hold dear.

Lisa grew up in Niles, a town that was enriched by her presence. She graduated from Niles Senior High School in 1984, laying the foundation for a life characterized by wit, wisdom, and the willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. Lisa’s laughter was infectious, her intellect was admired, and her generosity knew no bounds.

Lisa’s interests were as unique and joyful as she was. She had a delightful tradition of celebrating her own birthday by donning her favorite birthday hat, complete with candles, for the entire month of August. This tradition not only showcased her fun-loving nature but also her ability to find joy in the simple things of life. It was a testament to her belief in celebrating life’s milestones with gusto and enthusiasm.

Her friends and family will remember Lisa for the words that best describe her: funny, intelligent, and generous. Whether it was through her quick-witted jokes that could light up any room, or her thoughtful conversations that revealed her insightful nature, Lisa left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know her.

The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their great comfort, compassion, and support during Lisa’s final days.

In keeping with Lisa’s wishes, there will be no services held at this time.
