Darleen F. Hawn, 76, of Lincoln Township died Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the Hanson Hospice Center in Lincoln Township.
Family services will be held at a later date and cremation has taken place. Arrangements are by the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Services in Benton Township. Please share memories or messages at www.florin.net.
Darleen was born on October 30. 1947 in Grafton, ND., to Charles and Dorothy Spelhaug. She has lived in many different places including Texas, Seattle, Tennessee, Zeeland, Michigan and for the last four years at the Serenity Shores Assisted Living Facility in Lincoln Township. Darleen married Thomas Hawn in 1984 and he preceded her in death in 1999. Together they had 15 years of marriage. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching crime shows on TV.
Her family includes her daughter, Nicole (Mark) Van Lente of Lincoln Township; her brother, Robert Spelhaug of Corpus Christy, TX; her granddaughters, Jordyn (Kelly) Matlow and Morgan Newman; her grandson, Kaleb and her cousins in Washington State and Minnesota. Also included in her family was her best friend, Barb Fessler, of Millersburg, PA and her aids at the Assisted Living Facility. She was also preceded in death by her older siblings, Gerilee and Vernon Spelhaug.
