Dorissa Rochelle Thomas was born March 15th, 1966 to the union of Voyd Jr. and Ruth Thomas in Benton Harbor, MI.

Dorissa graduated from Benton Harbor High School. She was a fierce athlete and multi talented individual with a bright smile. She was raised at Second Baptist Church then later baptized at Alpha Omega Ministry in Kalamazoo, MI.

Dorissa was a devoted wife to Therron Greer Sr. for 44 years, a great mother to her children and a passionate humble sister to her siblings.

Dorissa dedicated many years working helping others in the medical field.  Her most recent occupation was at the YWCA caring for women and children. Dorissa memory will be cherished by her family and friends as someone who company filled with compassion, warmth, laughter and joy. She was a gift of life and the backbone to the family. Dorissa was one of the sweetest souls you’ll ever meet. Dorissa happiness comes from the times she spent with her grandchildren watching animated movies, making meals out of nothing and never forgetting the desert.. lol

Dorissa was preceded in death by her daughter Paris Faye Greer; parents, Voyd and Ruth Thomas; sister, Detra Thomas and her brother, Terry Young Jr.

Dorissa Thomas leaves behind a cherished legacy of love and everlasting memories. She is survived by her loving husband Therron Greer; her sons, Therron Greer Jr., Andrae Greer, Demetrius Greer, Travis Greer and Trevor Greer; her beautiful grandchildren, Jada, Andrae Jr., Avery, Travis Jr., Zy’ion, Lillie, Myla, Novalynn, and Everleig Greer. She’s also survived by her baby sister Thia Thomas and three brothers Voyd Thomas III, Ta’Kor (Tasha) Thomas and Eugene Carson.  She will be remembered by special nephew Ja’Tavion Carson and special cousin Lamar Thomas also remembered by Mother in law Vivian Greer, father in law Charles Wilburn, brother in law Dylan (Lisa) Greer, sister in law Renatta (Bernard) Wilson and a host of nieces and nephews.
