Darwin Dean Walden, 72 of Dowagiac passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at his home. A private family burial will take place at Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.

Darwin was a hardworking man. He always had a project he was working on. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t build, whether houses, gazebo’s, or even restoring his 1950 Ford pickup truck “baby”. Darwin never knew a stranger and would strike up a conversation everywhere he would go. He was a simple man. You could find him sitting outside by a fire or tinkering around listening to his favorite group Crosby, Stills and Nash. He kept the same fashion for years. Levi’s, a good chambray shirt or navy blue pocket t-shirt, a leather bracelet, red high top converse, and a pair of cheap sunglasses.

Darwin loved his mother Norma dearly and talked often of the times they would sit up till the wee hours of the morning eating macaroni salad and playing cards. Darwin will be remembered by his family and friends. Darwin was very passionate about this and would tell you, “Buy American and Americans work”. Also, “mind over matter”.

In Christ alone my hope is found.

Arrangements entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, Boyd Chapel. 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman.
