Our beloved Charles Paul “Chuck” Hess, born on January 10, 1956, in Niles, Michigan, embarked on his final adventure on April 30, 2024. Remembered as a compassionate, empathetic, humble, and reliable soul, Charles was a beacon of light in every room he entered. His quiet, unsuspecting sense of humor was a cherished trait that made any gathering a merry one.

A dedicated family man, Charles held a special fondness for his nieces and nephews. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as music and the magic of cinema and theatre. His reliable nature was evident at work, where he consistently earned promotions. He was also a humble history enthusiast, often surprising us with the depth of his knowledge.

Charles leaves behind a legacy of love, shared with his surviving family: his sister, Jean Gillis (Dan), his brother, Ray Hess, and his adored nieces and nephews, Steve Hess, Scott Hess, Stacy Jackson, Zach Hess, Hope Janesheski, Faith Brown, Amanda Compoe, and Daniel Gillis. He joins his parents, Charles and Pauline Hess, in eternal rest.

As we remember Charles, let us celebrate his life and the joy he brought us. In the words of Dr. Seuss, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan.
