Barbara was born February 22, 1962, in Newark, Ohio to Redmond and Patricia Sage. As a young girl her dad took a job with Whirlpool Corporation bringing her to Coloma to grow up. After college Barbara moved to Florida where she worked for years as a case worker for a child advocacy center. Barbara’s compassion made her working to help children a perfect fit. She had a great talent for crafting and painting helping her add beauty to the world.
Barbara leaves behind her sister Susan (James) Ridge, three nephews Patrick (Morgan) Ridge, Nicholas Ridge, and Jason Ridge, five great nieces and nephews, and her fur babies Kathmandu, Stormin Norman, Pie, and Fred Astaire to cherish her memory.
Barbara died Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Douglas Cove Skilled Nursing in Douglas, Michigan. Hutchins Funeral Home is assisting Barbara’s family with cremation. You may visit with Barbara’s family Friday, May 17, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. Her life will be celebrated with a Memorial Mass on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet. Memorials may be made in Barbara’s name to Douglas Cove Health and Rehabitation. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Barbara’s family.
