Michigan Works is planning its next hiring event for May 1.

The agency tells us an estimated 25 employers will be on hand and ready to hire. They include Beacon Specialized Living Services, the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety, First Student, Help at Home, Ironworkers Local 292, Martin’s Supermarket, New Products Corporation, Republic Services, and Spectrum Community Services, representing opportunities in several industries.

In addition to hosting employers, the job fair will feature resource providers to help job seekers with education, training, and support services. They include ALR Educational Health Services, Lake Michigan College, and MedCertify.

The Secretary of State Mobile Office will also be present at the event, bringing services directly to individuals with limited access to their offices and the internet.

The event will be May 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Michigan Works Service Center on West Main Street in Benton Harbor. Those who attend are encouraged to register in advance, and you can do so here.

Employers looking to have a table at the hiring event at no cost should contact Michael Mompremier at mompremierm@miworks.org. Capacity is limited. For more information or general questions, visit http://www.miworks.org/events.
