A 37-year-old Niles man is hospitalized in South Bend for injuries suffered when he crashed his vehicle shortly after 6 Tuesday morning. The Cass County Sheriff’s Department says Eric Sienicki suffered a medical issue while heading east on US-12 and crashed into a utility pole. His passenger, 41-year-old Stacy Champagne of Niles, was also taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment. Alcohol was not a factor, and both were buckled up. The crash remains under investigation.
