A group of southwest Michigan residents concerned about the result of the presidential election is braving the cold each evening until the Electoral College meets to hold vigils in front of St. Joseph City Hall. They’re asking electors to vote their conscience. Katie Kwon is one of them who told WSJM News the electors have the power to stop Donald Trump.
“Alexander Hamilton foretold that foreign powers would try to influence presidential elections,” Kwon said. “Donald Trump is not qualified. He is compromised by Russian involvement, and the electors must do their constitutional duty and put someone else in office.”
Kwon says they want an investigation and postponement of the Electoral College meeting, set for December 19. The vigils will be held every evening from 5 to 5:30 at city hall until the college meets.
