Veterans Day is Friday, and the American Legion in Buchanan has some special events planned throughout the week. The legion’s Bob Blaylock tells WSJM News they’re inviting in some guests to talk about combat tracking in Vietnam. They bring in veterans each year to talk about America’s war history.
“You get to meet these people and find out they’re really down to earth and really nice, fun people to talk to, and then you get to hear about some of what they did for us,” Blaylock said.
The American Legion has also invited author Susan Merrit to town. It’s holding a presentation for the public at the high school at 7 p.m. next Thursday, as well as a gathering at the legion hall at 11 a.m. Friday. Everyone’s invited to come out and learn something about history.
